Robinson Swimming Pool Bedford - Thursdays 9pm - 10pm
Robinson Pool underwent an award winning refurbishment in 2005 and is now Bedfordshire’s premier swimming facility; home to Bedford’s largest pool and is situated in the picturesque grounds of Bedford Park.
There are three pools; the main, 6-lane competition pool, the diving pool and a beginners teaching pool. The competition pool is the only pool available to kayakers.
There is also a huge grandstand area for spectators. There is ample parking in the adjacent car-park (entrance in Foster Hill Road).
Your kayak MUST be clean and dry before entering the pool-side area (it may be inspected). The pool is a full 33.3 metres in length and depths vary from 3ft to 6ft 6ins - perfect for rolling and rescue practice in a safe and warm environment. Lifeguards will be in attendance but currently no formal instructors are planned. You will be expected to buddy-up with an experienced paddler and keep safe. You must wear a safety helmet in the pool!
Club boats may be available (check first), each session is £4 per person for Viking members or £6 for non-members and may be booked in advance - contact Sam Jackson at the club or EMAIL.
