New BCU - 1 Star:

This is really an introduction to the kayak and how to start making it do what you want:  basic forward and reverse strokes including turning the kayak left and right. How to exit the kayak in the event of a capsize in a controlled and safe manner. Basic theory questions.

New BCU - 2 Star:

Slightly more advanced use of the paddle, more confident strokes, use of bracing to prevent a capsize.  Moving the boat sideways, paddling backwards over longer distance with accuracy, slightly more in-depth theory questions.
